Vermi-Compost Training Program

A training programme on the process of vermicomposting has been  organized in Prayatn Society for Environment Conservation,  motivating self help Groups women to invest in this activity and create  micro enterprises of vermicompost. The vermicompost process is an  eco-friendly method with the capacity to convert the organic waste  (cow dung, excrements, etc.)

This technique uses the earthworms to transform the waste into  natural and enriched manure: the vermicompost. In addition to the  ability to reduce the wastes, the vermicompost is an effective bio-  manure which permits, in one hand, to improve plants growth and, in  the other hand, to bring them essential nutritive elements. Humanism  promotes the creation of vermicompost enterprises by providing  micro-credits for the women willing to invest in this activity. The  vermicomposting technique presents a double benefit: it guarantees a  regular income for the family while preserving the environment.
